These classes teach gentle exercises which can be done either in sitting or standing, designed to improve the health and well being of the participants.

The group sessions are suitable for everyone and each exercise may be adapted to suit the capabilities of the individual. These group sessions are an enjoyable way to exercise and also an opportunity to meet and socialise with other people.

About Tai Chi Exercises

Tai Chi Exercises runs a weekly class in the Cockermouth area of Cumbria. The class is friendly and informal and it is a great way to meet other people with a similar interest.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese exercise that has been practiced for many centuries and is now becoming popular in the West. It combines deep breathing and relaxation with slow, gentle and graceful movements.

Who is Tai Chi suitable for?

Tai Chi is safe and is suitable for everyone, male or female, young or old, unfit or super-fit, people with or without a disability.

Why do Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is fun, interesting and enjoyable and improves your health and quality of life. It is an excellent group activity encouraging socialization

What should I wear?

It is suggested that you wear loose comfortable clothing and flat shoes suitable for exercise.
