Introduction to Tai Chi Classes

About Tai Chi Exercises

Tai Chi Exercises run weekly classes in the Cockermouth area of Cumbria.

Two types of classes are currently offered. One is for those wishing to learn Traditional Yang style Tai Chi, the other is for those who want to learn some easier simple Tai Chi Exercises.  Classes are friendly and informal and it is a great way to meet other people with a similar interest.  

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese exercise that has been practiced for many centuries and is now becoming popular in the West. It combines deep breathing and relaxation with slow, gentle and graceful movements.

Who is Tai Chi suitable for?

Tai Chi is safe and is suitable for everyone, male or female, young or old, unfit or super-fit, people with or without a disability.

Why do Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is fun, interesting and enjoyable and improves your health and quality of life. It is an excellent group activity encouraging socialization

What should I wear?

It is suggested that you wear loose comfortable clothing and flat shoes suitable for exercise.
